Beatrice 2011 Year in Review

Happy New Year to you! I wanted to take a moment to thank you, dear reader, for tuning in this past year and partaking in my randomness. Thanks to you, my blog stats for 2011 look like so:

Here are the top 5 most popular posts of 2011. Sexually deviant dolphins clinched the title of most viewed post of the year. Not sure what that says about you people.

  1. Dolphin Sexual Harassment
  2. Protists: they make no sense
  3. Your cold symptoms are your fault
  4. Sleep Deprivation
  5. How the Brain Works
I will continue my weekly posts of science ramblings and terrible drawings for your enjoyment, and I have a few new project ideas for 2012. Stay tuned.

And now, new year's resolutions for a tree, a sea turtle, and a yeast.

Murderous Squirrel

Today a squirrel charged me and chased me down the sidewalk. Running, I yelled, "Ah! A squirrel is chasing me!"--partly to express my surprise, and partly to explain to any bystanders why I suddenly broke into a sprint. No one noticed, cared, or came to my aid.

The squirrel stopped his pursuit after about 15 feet and stared at me with the hollow eyes of an ice cold murderer.

The end.

(Actual biology/educational content coming soon. I swear.)
